DJI Mavic Air 2 Review: Small but Powerful

The DJI Mavic Air 2 is on the rise. The market for UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) features or what is familiarly known as drones is indeed very potential. Even so, the market niche is still limited and only filled by one fairly dominant producer, DJI (Dà- Jing Innovations).

Almost all segments of the world drone market are understood by this Chinese manufacturer. Starting from the newcomer to the professional class. And on average, each segment is represented by at least one DJI drone product.

In the consumer class, for example, DJI has a product called the Mavic Air Series. The drones in this series are indeed in a class that is quite 'fit'. Both in terms of price or the features it carries.

Located between the entry level and professional classes, one of the products in this series is the Mavic Air 2, which is a very interesting product for content creators, hobbyists, aerial photography or travelers.

Design

The body appearance of the Mavic Air 2 does look a little smaller than the Mavic 2 Pro and bigger than the Mavic Mini. When compared with products in the same line, this drone has a body structure that is heavier than the early generation Mavic Air.

The futuristic concept is closer to the Mavic 2 Zoom. And interestingly, the body of the Mavic Air 2 is in fact always safe and delicious to carry everywhere. Cool designation, Mavic Air 2 has a design that is truly portable.

For users who don't like to be complicated, the Mavic Air 2 design is indeed very friendly. When the position is folded, the dimensions are only 180 × 97 × 84mm. Almost only the width of the palm of an old person's hand. Simple and easy to put in a bag.

One more thing that is interesting about the Mavic Air 2 design is the appearance of the patterns. In some of the DJI drone product lines, the gray tones look quite boring. But in this Mavic Air 2, DJI introduces a better and fresh tone.

Regarding material design, I don't think there is any need to doubt it. The materials used by the Mavic Air 2, starting from the body, housing to the propeller, are composed of quality materials. Most of it is a combination of light metal with hard plastic. Energy resistance is also pretty good and solid. However, it is not recommended to be clashed or planned to be brought down.

New Remote Controller

DJI also brought the most changes on the Mavic Air 2 on the remote control. This new controller design offers a more exciting and interactive “handling” sensation than that of the earlier generation Mavic Air.

The dimensions are slightly larger, but the ergonomic design is very safe to hold. Likewise, this remote control has a notch at the bottom with a unique grip that is delicious when held.

Largest Camera Sensor

This is DJI's highest concentration in introducing the best-in-class consumer drones. This second generation Mavic Air carries the most camera sensors, which is 1/2 inch CMOS Quad Bayer which is embedded in a normal 3- axis gimbal. This camera is predicted to be able to capture RAW, JPEG photos with a resolution of 12MP or 48MP. Interestingly, not only is it standard movement, the gimbal can also center the angle of the camera shooting up to 24 degrees.

The Mavic Air 2 camera has a 24mm (equivalent) focal length with an aperture of always f / 2.8 and supports a field of view (FOV), aka a field of view that reaches 84 degrees. The focus distance itself can reach 1 m to infinity.

When compared to the Mavic 2 Pro which carries a 1-inch CMOS sensor with a 20MP camera, or the Mavic Mini with a 1 / 2.3-inch 12MP camera sensor, the photo performance of the Mavic Air 2 camera is claimed to be much slicker.

Conclusion

Suitable for its target market, the Mavic Air 2 is indeed designed to target the middle to basic class, and is predicted to be a very powerful portable drone in the DJI product line. The Mavic Air 2 offers major advantages in the camera zone by introducing a larger sensor, enhancing the brand new safety system, enhancing flight performance, offering greater transmission expertise as well as a wide range, and which means that this consumer drone is provided with longer battery life. . One more thing, all of these skills can be enjoyed with an easier and simpler drone operation process.

DJI Mavic Air 2 Price is $988 Fly More Combo.
